Where to Stay
Whatever you're looking for, we have hotels in neighbourhoods to match your mood. The busiest areas are those around Centraal Station and Dam Square. From here a pretty network of canals lined by tall gabled buildings radiate out towards the lively Leidseplein and the quieter Museum district.
Food & Drink

The highlights of Dutch cuisine include herrings, served every which way (raw, cooked and pickled), smoked eel and chips with mayonnaise. Gouda and Edam are the best known cheeses but there are plenty of others to sample.
Shopping

There are plenty of souvenirs to bring home from Amsterdam; a pair of clogs; some pretty Delftware; a bottle of Jenever or, if you're lucky, a diamond from the diamond factory.
