  • Spend a contemplative moment inside the white La Turbie stone Cathedral of Monte Carlo, where you can see the tomb of Princess Grace.
Food and Drink
Given the wealth of the population of Monte Carlo, it goes without saying that there is a wide choice of gourmet and international restaurants, many of which boast Michelin stars, but there’s also a range of good-value restaurants in the Old Town.
Seafood dishes with lime, pasta, cured and smoked hams, salads topped with onions à la Monégasque (combined with raisins for a sweet and sour flavour) and pan bagnat sandwiches all feature on the menus. Fougasses are a traditional dessert – sugar biscuits flavoured with aniseed, orange and rum.
Mingle with the locals in the chic Blue Bar at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel where you can sip cocktails. Or, if you want to try out the nightlife, visit the famous JimmyZ nightclub where you are likely to bump into lots of famous and beautiful people.
Shopping
Luxury goods and designer labels abound in Monaco’s swanky boutiques: in the so-called Golden Square, international names include Prada, Gucci and Hermès to name a few. To discover the world’s top jewellers, go to the Place du Casino – the dazzle of diamonds in the windows is spectacular.

Whether you are on a beach holiday or a city break it only takes a short walk from the city centre to reach the beach, so the options are endless.
