Where to Stay
- Calais - Perfect for a short break, an overnight stopover or a shopping spree, Calais is the obvious starting point to explore this region with a wealth of attractions including not only the famous hypermarkets but a fine array of restaurants and colourful Saturday markets. Excellent road networks mean the beaches of the Cote d’Opale are within easy reach.
- Arras - The capital of Pas de Calais, Arras is a pretty city steeped in history which was nearly destroyed in the First World War. There’s plenty to see and do here, from the many museums, a visit to the historic Cathedrale or climbing the Belfry to look over the town’s two main squares. The Christmas markets here are also a treat, offering a wide selection of arts and crafts.
- Le Touquet - A long-time favourite of France’s elite, with miles of fine golden sandy beaches, stylish shopping galleries and a network of golf courses along the Côte d’Opale. Boasting a whole range of watersports including sand yachting, kite surfing, kayaking and sailing. It also offers a casino and a racetrack making Le Touquet a very special place that appeals to both families looking for a traditional seaside holiday and golfers and water sports fans. Of course, fantastic restaurants serving local specialties are also in abundance.
- Gosany - A little rural village surrounded by fields and a peaceful forest. A nice, relaxing stay for a pleasant trip, especially after a day enjoying the bustle of nearby towns such as Arras or Calais.
- Aire-sur-la-Lys - A small, flourishing Flemish town, offering lots of history and beautiful landscapes, within easy reach of Calais.
- Boulogne - A picturesque and bustling town, Boulogne Sur Mer is home to France’s largest fishing port and has a large fish market. Also home to the largest aquarium in France - ‘Nausicaä’; a world-class sea life centre and home to many fine sandy beaches.
- GOLF - Nord Pas de Calais is home to some of the most beautiful golf courses in France. Popular courses included Dunkerque, Arras and Le Touquet. Enjoy discounts off green fees at selected courses if you stay at properties in the brochure which feature the golf symbol.
- WATERSPORTS - Known as the land of sport, enjoy sand yachting on Le Touquet’s fine stretch of sandy beaches, or why not try a spot of sailing?
