Food and Drink
Como offers some of the best Italian cuisine; each town has their own secret as to the best way to grill the fresh fish caught from the lake. Only fresh local ingredients are used in the preparation, and most dishes contain basil, oregano, garlic and organic tomatoes.
Home made pasta and pizza is in abundance in this area, and you are bound to come across polenta, which a type of corn meal and mataloc, a dome-shaped sponge cake.
Shopping
In the larger town of Como, you can buy everything and anything! Silk is, of course, one of the most common exports of Como, and the shops are overflowing with wonderful shapes, styles and colours of high quality silk products.
Where To Stay
Take a stroll around Laglio, and see if you recognise any of the scenery from the Hollywood blockbusters filmed there.
Celebration
If you have something to celebrate, why not spend the evening at Bellagio? It’s said to be the most beautiful town in Italy.
