Given the wealth of the population of Monte Carlo, it goes without saying that there is a wide choice of gourmet and international restaurants, many of which boast Michelin stars, but there's also a range of good-value restaurants in the Old Town and harbour.
Seafood dishes with lime, pasta, cured and smoked hams, salads topped with onions a la Monégasque (combined with raisins for a sweet and sour flavour) and pan bagnat sandwiches all feature on the menus. Fougasses are a traditional dessert - sugar biscuits flavoured with aniseed, orange and rum.
Mingle with the locals in the chic Blue Bar at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel where you can sip cocktails. Or, if you want to try out the nightlife visit the famous JimmyZ nightclub.
