Venice Simplon-Orient-Express

Romance, adventure and pure pleasure are everyday occurrences aboard the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, all ultimately bound up in journeys that network through Europe, between some of the world's most alluring cities. Guests travel in authentic vintage carriages, evoking the glamorous era of European rail travel in the 1920s and 30s. Passengers can enjoy spontaneous conversations in the Bar Car, dine on Gourmet dishes prepared in galley kitchens and relax in their private compartments while enjoying the passing scenery from their own supremely privileged 'window on the world'.

Cabins have beautifully decorated mahogany panels, with marquetry patterns, such as Art Deco floral and leaf patterns.  In daylight compartments have a banquette sofa and small table, converting to one upper and one lower bed at night, equipped with washing facilities and 24hr steward service.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express operates with three individually decorated Restaurant Cars.  An array of cuisines is on offer and the Maitre d' will endeavour to seat passengers in a different car every time, allowing for every awe-inspiring car to be experienced.

Our Featured Journeys

Brunch in London, dinner in Paris, wake up to breakfast passing through the majesty of the Alps; the ultimate luxury experience on this legendary train.  Typical Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Journeys are overnight, London to Venice.  However, other routes are available.  For details please check the table below.

Life Aboard

The Bar Car is open all day and late into the night and a resident pianist plays during the journey before and after meals. The Bar Car serves a selection of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, cocktails and champagne. The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express boutique has a range of exclusively designed gifts and is usually situated on the Lalique Restaurant Car. Quite simply, 'you can never be overdressed on the Orient-Express', and guests are asked to meet the minimum requirements of a suit and tie for gentlemen and an equivalent standard for ladies. At other times, smarter day wear is the custom.

This magical and romantic city is an absolute must to visit at least once in anyone's lifetime.  The islands, canals and bridges, the ancient architecture and Italian lifestyle are everything you will be immersed in during your stay and we know you will love it.

Famed for Shakespeare's legendary lovers Romeo and Juliet, and home to the well preserved Roman amphitheatre, Verona is perfect for a cultural short break.  During summer many visitors flock here for the world-famous opera festival.

Lake Garda

You can extend your stay in Italy in any of the city or resort hotels we feature, with a tailor-made itinerary to meet your exact requirements. We recommend Lake Garda as the ideal option, for its proximity to Venice, tranquillity, contrasting scenery and natural beauty
